Using Link2SD on Gingerbread (Tested on GT-S5830 Galaxy Ace)

If you install Link2SD on Gingerbread, you'll get notification "mount warning" every turn on your handheld. This is caused by two lines in the file init.rc that is marked by #. so you have to remove it so that it becomes like the picture below:

See the top two lines. The two lines that I mean is:
service flash_recovery /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
one shoot

About how to remove the marks on that two lines you need Linux based system. If you won't to do that, you can download the firmware which I have edited here. The firmware on that link is XWKS9 (S5830XWKS9_S5830XEOKP2_XEO).

Below is screenshoot from my GT-S5830 Galaxy Ace before and after apply Link2SD. This is screenshoot after flashing the firmware that I have edited:

Then I install GunsNGlory, Clouds & Sheep and Tank Hero from the market. Available space on internal phone storage is reduced from 151MB to 147MB.

Then I install Link2SD from the market. Here is the screenshot "Storagr Info" from Link2SD before I create link:

 After I create link, internal phone memory increased from 147MB to 150MB. Below is screenshoot from "SD card and phone storage settings" and then Storage Info on Link2SD:

Cara Flashing/Ganti FW di Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Yang perlu dipersiapkan:
Do'a
Minuman dan Camilan (opsional)
Samsung Galaxy Ace
Kabel Data bawaan
KIES (atau bisa juga driver kabel Samsung)
ODIN + file cooper.ops
Firmware DXKP9 2.3.4 (Official Ginger Bread Versi SSC)

Persiapkan dahulu semua yang diperlukan diatas, download KIES, ODIN + file cooper.ops dan Firmware. Untuk ODIN + file cooper.ops sudah disertakan apabila Anda mendownload dari link Firmware di atas.

Langkah-langkah:
Install KIES atau Driver Kabel Samsung terlebih dahulu.
Ekstract firmware yang sudah didownload. Pada gambar dibawah terlihat sudah terdapat program ODIN dan file cooper.ops. Kalau download dari link lain, silahkan download juga program ODIN dan file cooper.ops.

Pastikan KIES sudah di-exit, lalu jalankan ODIN.
Tekan tombol tengah bawah + Volume Down lalu colokkan USB dengan tetap menekan kedua tombol tadi.
Akan muncul tulisan downloding di layar Ace
Tunggu sampai di aplikasi ODIN keluar angka portnya pada Com port mapping
Pada bagian Option centang semua kecuali bagian "One Package", kemudian di bagian Debug Option hilangkan tanda centang pada "Debug ONLY".

Klik tombol OPS lalu pilih Cooper_v1.0.ops di folder hasil extract rom tadi
Klik tombol BOOT lalu pilih  APBOOT_S5830XXKPH_CL260130_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Klik tombol Phone lalu pilih MODEM_S5830DXKP9_CL457456_REV03.tar.md5
Klik tombol Pda lalu pilih CODE_S5830DXKP9_CL457456_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Klik tombol CSC lalu pilh CSC_S5830OLBKP9_CL457456_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5

Kalau sudah seperti gambar diatas, klik tombol Start.
Tunggu prosesnya hingga selesai, seperti gambar dibawah ini:

Selesai. HP Anda akan restart sendiri dan booting seperti biasa.

Wifi Atheros di Slackware 13

Download Madwifi di http://snapshots.madwifi-project.org/ pilih yang terbaru.
Lakukan perintah dibawah ini:
# tar xfvz madwifi-xxx.tar.gz
# cd madwifi-xxx
# make
# make install

Apabila sudah selesai install WiCD yang terdapat di DVD Slackware 13.

Bangkitkan ulang daemon networking lewat perintah /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 restart lalu tekan Enter.

Selesai.


Catatan:
Apabila menemukan error "Operation not possible due to RF-kill" lakukan langkah berikut:
# rfkill unblock wifi
Lalu ulangi langkah untuk membangkitkan ulang daemon networking.
